We're giving away this nifty application, but the software to operate it is a bit pricey.
Timeclock is intended for independent business folks in the information, graphics, and similar work for ...
- managing your time
- billing
- performance improvement
- improving ethical, enviornmental, and aesthetic qualities of their work.
Volunteers
who work with computers for charitable, religious, and eleemosynary
organizations can use this application to organize and improve their
work. Timeclock provides time usage records of volunteer work performed
to substantiate claimes.
Timeclock
uses both intuitive and analytic abilities to chronicle
activities in some detail -- and take as little time as possible.
While
punching a timeclock isn't profoundly thrilling, you will experience mild
enjoyment using this MindManager/Alpha Five application. It's an
hour-by-hour record of accomplishment and skill.
This is a starter set that you can customize to reflect your accustomed working system.
Timeclock runs under Windows XP and Vista and requires Microsoft Word for Windows.
Here's how to get started...
(Print these directions out and check off
each step as you complete it.)
- Before downloading and installing Timeclock, you should acquire and install the supporting software, MindManager and Alpha Five . They both offer free trials.
- Work your way through the excellent tutorials provided with MindManager and Alpha Five.
- Consider other software to use with this applications (optional): AnyTime Organizer and Macro Express. If you aren't sure you'll need these, you can pick them up later.
- Here's a free utility you'll probably need: World Timeclock.
- Get acquainted with the software you've installed for this application
- Create a folder on any hard drive and label it "Timeclock".
- Dowload Timeclock.exe (a self-extracting ZIP file) to the folder that you created and click on it to unzip it.
- Create shortcuts on your desktop. Later, you can consolidate them in a desktop folder if you prefer.

9. Open the Timeclock User Manual and start with "How to Read This MindMap".

Note: Timeclock doesn't work
correctly over periods that include midnight. When you are working over
midnight, you should take a short break before midnight, marking the
end hour. After midnight, start up again.
